The art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo as Intangible Cultural Heritage. A 3 year process started at NPV in 2014.
Proud of our achievement!
Proud to have started and constantly supported a process that led to the recognition of the Art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO on December 7, 2017.
It all started in 2014, when together with Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, President of UniVerde Foundation and former Minister for Agriculture and Environment, NPV decided to launch what would become the most popular petition in the history of UNESCO, #PizzaUnesco launched on the Change.org platform.
Therefore, NPV THANKS go first to Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, for having tenaciously and skillfully set up the process, and followed it to the goal. They go to Prof. Pierluigi Petrillo, Head of Mipaaf Delegation, for his valuable work done in assembling the dossier, and for the diplomatic effort. They also go to the untiring testimonial Jimmy Ghione from Striscia la Notizia. In the end, and above all our thanks go to more than 2 MILLION supporters from 100 countries – including citizens, personalities, institutions, companies and representatives of civil society, in Italy and around the world – who joined the petition and the campaign.
Congratulations to all those who contributed to it, congratulations to all Neapolitans and CONGRATULATIONS to all NEAPOLITAN PIZZAIUOLI.
